About the Position

The Director, Portfolio Marketing is responsible for defining and driving efforts across Prospect Marketing, Customer Marketing and will partner with Sales Enablement to ensure maximum effectiveness across both internal and external stakeholders. The Portfolio Marketing Director will provide leadership and management of a team, which may include Marketing Managers and Coordinators while collaborating with Product and Sales partners to achieve business objectives. 
Responsibilities
This function owns the customer, developing a deep understanding of the target audience to map the buyer journey and create buyer personas that guide messaging, content and offers.
Define and map a cohesive buyer/customer journey per market segment/channel
Develop and codify consistent buyer/customer personas, by market/line of business, including understanding of key needs for each
Position all messaging in terms of customer ultimate benefits, by persona, versus leading with features  
Test messages to optimize
Synthesize market and customer insights to inform messaging, positioning, and go-to-market and go-to-sales strategies 
Plan and develop campaigns to launch/re-launch solutions and services, leveraging deep customer understanding and targeted messaging.
Partner with sales and client success leaders on account-based efforts to target key accounts and accelerate pipeline
Field broad campaigns to build new pipeline
Determine optimal tactics and channels for effectively reaching target personas
Optimize campaigns in flight
Direct top-of-funnel activities that feed the sales pipeline, such as live and virtual event planning and execution.
Ensure each tactic or event is integrated into current campaigns, and that each has specific and quantifiable goals
Measure all marketing activities to ensure high ROI, using data to inform tactics and strategies 
Enable the sales team, equipping them with knowledge, insights, training and tools.
Define strategic sales deployment through targeted “plays” for qualified leads
Expand the relationship with current customers, engaging them in ways that deepen usage, enhance experiences, drive loyalty and renewal, or lead to upsell. 
Serve as SME to inform all digital and demand programs, to align with other off-line efforts
Ensure that broad Burning Glass marketing and corporate strategies are accurately reflected and supported by marketing efforts for the portfolio.
Work with senior Marketing leadership on the analysis and creation of marketing strategies across the organization.
Collaborate with colleagues in Sales and Product to ensure proper prioritization of initiatives and offerings, and to capitalize on new business opportunities 
Provide thought leadership on pricing, business model strategies, and setting business goals for each channel within the portfolio.
Direct team in the development of effective sales enablement strategies, tools, and tactics to empower the Sales team to be successful with their product portfolio.
Create a sales enablement plan and oversee marketing contributions to drive adoptions; oversee creation of sales tools, training materials, and compelling content and collateral including customer presentations, flyers/brochures, proposal templates, and case studies that help our sales team convert pipeline
Lead high performance team to achieve operating and strategy goals through ongoing feedback, coaching, training, and support. Perform all recruiting and hiring. 

Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
10+ years marketing experience
B2B Portfolio Marketing experience 
BA or BS (preferably Undergraduate degree in Business, Marketing, or Communications, or equivalent theoretical depth); MBA preferred
Experience in working with data-centric products and in at least one of our cor markets (i.e. education, human capital management, or public sector)
Track record of implementing innovative and disruptive marketing ideas
Demonstrated strategic agility. Proven record with strategy creation and execution.
Entrepreneurial spirit and ability/desire to build
Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
Experience organizing and successfully running major events.
Excellent oral and written communications skills (strong presentation skills a must). Ability to motivate and inspire different audiences.
Drive for results. “Can-do” attitude and persistence.
Interpersonal savvy.  Outstanding communication skills along with the capacity to work within corporate and entrepreneurial environments.

Knowledge of Salesforce, Pardot, Google Analytics, or similar.
